SP ROBOTICS Workshop in collaboration with Times NIE

Times NIE in collaboration with SP ROBOTICS had conducted an interesting workshop on Coding with robots for the students of Greenlawns High School, Warden Road on 3rd December, 2021. The session on Robotics received an amazing response as over 210 students participated in the workshop from grade 2 to grade 10.

The 60 minutes workshop conducted by Ms.Sneha Priya Reddy was aimed at teaching children the fundamentals of coding and also giving them an idea about practical coding and programming skills to make useful robots. The session was interactive and child friendly and the students were engaged in discussions throughout so that the various concepts related to coding could be understood in the most simplest manner.

All the registered participants who attended the session will be given a CRAZY ANT robot free of cost.

It was indeed an informative, enriching and valuable experience for the students.

Mr. Trishit Banerjee: Only student selected from India for the Advanced Molecular Chemistry course under the Future Global Leadership Programme. Trishit is the founder of The Sentinel, Japan’s first English Student Newspaper amongst all its 7 Imperial universities.

Mr. Hitesh Moghe: An IIT Bombay graduate in Material Science & Metallurgy, with 16 years of teaching experience in Mathematics. He is an extremely popular teacher of IIT Mathematics, who is also very passionate about mentoring students through his Career Guidance Programs.

Heal Through Food

Greenlawns School in collaboration with Ms. Saloni Kothari (Certified Nutritionist, Motivational Speaker, NLP Practitioner, Health and Welness Coach, BNI Member) conducted a  'Nurition Workshop' on ‘HEAL THROUGH FOOD’ on Zoom for the parents of Standard V and Standard VI on 3rd May, 2021.

This workshop was an effort made by our school to prioritise and promote importance of health and well-being amongst our parents and students.

Parents along with their children participated in large numbers. The workshop started with an amazing warm-up activity by Ms. Aesha Shah. Ms. Saloni Kothari then shared the importance of positive affirmations in life and how controlling portions of ones food intake can go a long way. She stressed on the fact that the kind of food we eat also affects our mood. She went on to explain various ways to heal mentally, physically and emotionally through food, the importance of reading nutritional labels on the packaged food items and healthy alternatives for children’s snacks. She concluded her session by sharing her transformation story.

Little smiles for a brighter tomorrow

Greenlawns School in collaboration with Dr. Ashni Mehta (Dentist) conducted a dental workshop called ‘LITTLE SMILES FOR A BRIGHTER TOMORROW’ on Zoom for the parents and students of Standard IV on 1st May,2021.

A dentist’s expert guidance can help children and parents understand better oral hygiene. This workshop was of great importance in promoting dental health care of the children in our school.

Dr. Ashni started her session with a ‘Dental oath’ on rinsing the mouth after every meal. She seamlessly demonstrated four pro tips to keep teeth clean.
Protip1-toothbrushing
Protio 2-flossing
Protip3-tongue cleaning
Protip 4-rinsing of mouth after every meal.
The contents of the workshop included the following:
• The reason for cavities in young children.
• Substitutes were offered for foods like milk chocolate, aerated drinks and packaged food by replacing them with dark chocolate, healthy smoothies and fresh food.
•The significance of magical ingredient-fluoride was explained.
• Braces and methods to shorten the process at an earlier age.

Dr.Ashni patiently answered queries related to oral hygiene of children. By the end of the session, the children developed a positive approach towards dental care and were inspired to take better care of their teeth.
